20 things in my 2009
I am a web designer and I find myself immersed in the internet far too much. There’s Twitter, Facebook, my own blog, portfolio, all of the various online magazines I check out, etc, but of the whole year, I would have to put the most weight on the human connections that I’ve had. Time to sit with friends and smoke cigarettes in the house until 3am talking about the depths of life, being there for a friend in need, crying with someone you care about, laughing until your sides hurt, and so many other things are my treasures of 2009.

Here’s to making 2010 wonderful!
1. Riots in Barcelona
After the Champions League victory over Manchester United, the streets of Barcelona exploded and I got to experience it with a good friend, Sam Faith.
2. Mosh pits in Baltimore
This was just on December 23. I went up with a group of great friends to a show with Bmore electro DJ’s, punk bands and hiphop groups.
3. Got my first full-time agency job at NewCity
After a yearlong internship I was asked to join the team at NewCity.
4. Saw Ancy C in London
On the same trip to Barcelona Sam and I went to London and caught a huge show with Andy C headlining at SE One near the London Bridge.
5. Stood in front of Raphael’s School of Athens in the Vatican
This was in the beginning of the year. I felt like I was leaving a dear friend when we moved to the next room in the Vatican.
6. Made some seriously awesome friendships
Blacksburg has been special because it’s here that I met so many people that I love deeply who I’m convinced will always be a part of my life.
7. Redesigned my website three times in search of that one design that will last for at least a year.
Up now, enjoy!
8. Got my I <3 Helvetica tramp stamp
Maybe one of the most impulsive decisions of 2009.
9. Got my PUSHPSDS knuckle tattoos.
See description above.
10. Saw the canals of Venice.
It was cold, and the Gondolas weren’t running at night, but the water taxis were just as good and had indoor seating.
11. Saw Colosseum, Forum, Vatican, etc. in Rome
Seriously awesome sights. Now only if there were half has many people in Rome… at all times.
12. Stood in front of the Gates of Paradise in Florence
I studied this in college and never thought I’d get a chance to stand in front of them.
13. Graduated from Virginia Tech
This was my goal from 2005 after getting out of the Marines. It’s something I value highly.
14. Bought my first Rolex
Impulsive again, but way worth it.
15. Saw tons of world renowned DJ’s
I got the chance to see so many great DJ’s… some are UltraBlack, 12th Planet, Andy C, Joe Nice, Reid Speed, Ursula 1000
16. Many offroading adventures
With many trips to the dealership for that warranty repair!
17. Spent time in San Diego
Saw some great friends I was stationed with in the Marines. This was my first San Diego trip and I loved every second of it.
18. Met a 13 year old wolf hybrid that almost made me piss my pants
On the beach in San Diego. He was calm and gentile, but the size of him and lack of emotion when I came made me think he was going to rip my stomach out.
19. Turned 26.
I like being 26.
20. Designed my first website for the iPhone
Through NewCity, for Chatham Hall.
